The Reform UK leader Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
