Wilfried Nancy declared he was not afraid of losing his job, asserting, “We are very near to a turnaround,” in the wake of sliding worryingly close to the exit with a heavy setback against Rangers.

A Second-Half Collapse Sees Derby Defeat

The Hoops were in front their oldest rivals at half-time but a collapse after the break let Rangers to draw level on points with the current Scottish Premiership champions. Nancy, who was hired from the MLS, has now presided over six defeats in his first eight games.

“The board and I are united at the club,” insisted the manager.

Pressed on the speculation, he replied: “I don’t think about it. My focus is on working out methods to help my team to excel on the fine details.

Fan Fury On Display

“The performance we had at certain moments was exceptionally high. That happened. I could not say that if it was different. That is the reason, when it comes to wins, I mentioned it's a repeating pattern. Which is why I believe a change is coming to getting it right. But for the moment: details, details, details.”

“We produced many, many good things that we did, as was the case today. However is sustaining it. My message would change the same. Therefore I am convinced we’re going to be able to turn things around.”

Röhl’s Cautious Outlook

The victorious boss refused to contemplate a title charge even after what appeared to be a huge result. “Step by step, and we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The belief in the group is immense.”
