Alleged Bondi Beach Shooters Operated Solo and Did Not Preparation in the Philippines, Authorities State.

The pair of accused gunmen responsible for the deadly attack at a Hanukkah gathering on Bondi Beach, which claimed 15 lives, reportedly been lone actors, as stated by Australian law enforcement.

Police also confirmed that Sajid Akram, 50, and his son Naveed Akram, 24, flew to the Philippines on 1 November. Their itinerary included arriving in the main city Manila before transiting on the day of arrival to Davao City. The father and son flew back to Sydney on 29 November.

Lack of Proof of Planning During Trip

Investigators indicate the pair did not receive any type of attack-related instruction or "logistical preparation" during their time in the Philippines. Initial findings from local officials suggest they "mostly stayed in" their hotel.

The attack—labeled as Australia's most severe firearm massacre since 1996—has been officially declared a act of terrorism.

"We are actively examining the footage," the commissioner said, noting that preliminary reviews show that "the alleged offenders are alleged to have acted alone."

National law enforcement Chief Krissy Barrett informed the press on Tuesday that surveillance material documenting the alleged gunmen's whereabouts in the Philippines had been provided to domestic authorities.

"There is no evidence to suggest these accused individuals were affiliated with a wider terrorist cell, or were directed by others to execute an incident," Commissioner Barrett stated.

During the shooting, Sajid Akram was shot dead by police. He and his son Naveed—reportedly carrying rifles—are accused of having opened fire on guests at the Hanukkah event.

Naveed Akram, who was wounded after the attack, has been charged with 59 offences. These comprise 15 counts of murder and one count of committing a act of terrorism. He is due to appear in court in April.
